Standards for publication
Guidelines for authors.
Arte, entre paréntesis is a peer-reviewed semi-annual publication, edited by the University of Sonora, through the Humanities and Fine Arts Division, Central Regional Unit. The journal accepts original and unpublished articles and essays submitted to the Editorial Committee.
All files received must be accompanied by a cover letter in which Arte, entre paréntesis is authorized to publish them by the means the journal deems pertinent without any charge; likewise, the originality and authorship of the article is guaranteed and it is stated that the manuscript is not under publication consideration elsewhere.
The texts must fulfill the following requirements:
- Submissions must be sent through the journal's article reception system. Manuscripts are only received by this means.
- Use the template to prepare the articles (download here).
- The texts must have a minimum of 5000 and a maximum of 6000 words, including tables, graphs, illustrations, references. Likewise, they will be presented in TIMES NEW ROMAN typography, 12 points, with double spacing.
- Articles must be headed by a title, which must succinctly express the central idea of the text, indicate the main topic and avoid the use of abbreviations. The title must also be translated into Spanish.
- Authors must include their ORCID username in the author information. ORCID Registry (https://orcid.org/)
- The author's name must come after the title, followed by the author's email and ORCID record.
- The abstract must contain a clear and precise description of the content and must not exceed 150 words. The thesis, problem or process that motivates the article must be explicitly mentioned as well as the theoretical and methodological approaches to be used, and the conclusions.
- Keywords in both English and Spanish should be standardized under the localization of a thesaurus. It is recommended to use the UNESCO thesaurus, which specializes in the fields of human sciences and culture. http://vocabularies.unesco.org/browser/thesaurus/en/. Between three and five are recommended.
- If the use of notes is required, they should be included at the bottom of the page.
- The text citations must conform to the format of the American Psychological Association (APA), 6th. edition.

- If the text includes images, these must have a minimum quality of 150 dpi .jpg format and must be accompanied by a title and source, as well as the respective authorization. All data should be located at the top of the image and incorporated into the body of the text.
- Images and graphics: supporting visual materials must be duly mentioned in the body of the text.
Authors who publish in this journal retain their copyright and assign to the journal the right of first publication, with the work registered under the Creative Commons attribution license. This allows third parties to use what is published as long as they mention the authorship of the work. The first publication in this journal also allows the creation of new works from the published work.
Authors who publish in this journal can make other independent and additional contractual agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the version of the article published in this journal (eg, include it in an institutional repository or publish it in a book) provided that clearly indicate that the work was first published in this journal.
